Welcome to the Minnesota Assistive Technology Loan Network (MATLN), a program of United Cerebral Palsy of Minnesota.  The mission of MATLN is to empower people with speech, language and communication disabilities through the use of assistive technology education, support and equipment access.

MATLN is a loan library containing over 50 augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, and more than 200 total items to meet your special communication needs!

MATLN serves individuals who reside in Minnesota.  The devices are loaned directly to the professional who has evaluated the individual and is aware of the communication and access needs; however the systems are meant to be used by the individual in their home and community environments.  The device is loaned for a 30-day period.

UCP of Minnesota will ship the device to the requesting professional.  The only cost to your agency is the price of shipping (via UPS ground) the device back to UCP upon completion of the loan.

You will receive two forms with the shipment:  an inventory list that you check off on return of the equipment and a responsibility form, containing loan instructions, that we ask you to return in a self addressed envelope as soon as you receive the device.

One device is loaned at a time to a particular client; however, you may check out more than one device if it is for a one-time evaluation visit.  The devices are to be returned after the evaluation appointment.

To loan a device, fax the request on your agency letterhead to 651-646-3045 and include the following information about your client:

Age
Gender
Race
Diagnosis
County of Residence
Device(s) you wish to loan

We will let you know if the device you request is already on loan and approximate date it will be available to you. In that case, we will place your name on the waiting list.
